This class is designed to build on your foundational knowledge of wheel-thrown ceramics. In this class we will demonstrate more advanced forms like bowls, mugs, and plates. We will also explore the ceramic process further by discussing the chemistry of clay and glaze. This class will introduce some surface design techniques–painting and drawing with underglaze colors. Prerequisite: foundational wheel-throwing experience.
Additional Open Studio Times
Students are welcome to work in the Ceramic Studio outside of class at the following times on an independent basis. Note that for open studios that fall on a students class day, the student is allowed to work right up to class. Otherwise we request that studio users exit one hour before class time to allow the instructor time to set up.
- Tuesdays | 1 – 5 PM
- Wednesdays | 1 – 5 PM
- Saturdays | 9 AM – 1 PM
- Sundays | 5 – 9 PM
